Dancing in the rain

"Rain rain, go away, come again, another day!!"

This is what comes to my mind, when I recall my feelings about the rain in my childhood days. This shows that I did not like the monsoon showers. But this does not depict the complete story. I didn't hate these showers completely. I used to hate these only when I was inside my house, else I would love to open my mouth to feel the pure taste of the raindrops, like any other child of my age.
Today, I wonder, why did i feel like this. Why did I like it only when outside of my house, why not the other way round.I got the answer, it was, the condition of the house we stayed in.
It was our ancestral house. Hence, we were in no mood to leave it. However, whenever it started raining outside, within few minutes, it would rain inside my house as well. The structure of the house was so old that there was water leakage from almost half of the ceiling in my room. Well, same was the condition of the kitchen of my house. At times, it was so worse that all of us were just looking for some abundant space without water where we could sit at the least.
People usually enjoy 'pakodas' in the rains, but we always used to get 'khichadi' or a quick cooking recipe as my mom could not stand for a longer time at a place where rain water was leaking from the ceiling while cooking. Well, hats-off mom, I wouldn't cook in such scenarios. You at the least, did so.
There are too many of the scenarios to pen down.
Well, this was my case. Now, when sitting in my house and enjoying the beautiful showers, my mind always gets flooded with the memories of these scenes from my childhood. I wonder, what would be the condition of the ones who do not have a shelter to dwell during the monsoons..! I just had a small problem of the leakage, which I found to be difficult, what would be their condition who have to spend their lives under the flyovers! Put yourself in their shoes, would you really find the 'Dancing in the rain' concept a spectacular experience..Here for these people, an out of the world concept does exist... 'Surviving in the rain'..
No, I am not spreading pessimism or negativity to your mind. You might be thinking what could be done in such situations. Neither can we offer all of them with a shelter, nor can we stop the rains. However, there is a way we can help these people. The way is to find out some old rain-coats, the out of use clothes of ours and try to give these to the needful. This way, I don’t assure, will make them actually 'Dancing in the rain' but will surely enable them to 'survive in the rain'.
Next time, you find your wardrobe full of clothes you don’t use, remember these people and try helping them, because,
YOU CAn gift the clothing you don’t need anymoRE.

A Pleasant Surprise

When I was pursuing my education in Sangli, I got disappointed only because of the dull markets over there and the absence of places to shop and get my wardrobe a brand new look. To fulfill this, I turned towards the online shopping sites, which were helping me to this in a click, at a remote location like Sangli. Then I shifted to Pune to have my internship and this incident made me away from online shopping. I began to prefer FC road over Flipkart.

It had been a long time I had shopped from any online store when I purchased some apparels from amazon. What happened when I went for collecting the courier was a pleasant surprise for me. Unlike every time, the person was present before me with an application running on his phone which could take the signature of the receiver and ask her for the feedback of the service. The delivery person was carrying an ATM card swapper as well. This was a surprise and this made me ponder the impact of growing technology on our daily lives.

Though very slower than the world, India is moving towards the technology faster than ever before.
In my childhood, I used to move to a STD center to make a phone call to my sister sitting in the nearest metro. Now sitting at my home, I can make video chat with her who now stays in United States of America. This transformation is remarkable. I had never fantasized in my childhood that such a change would be brought in. This was a ‘Surprise’ for me.
Earlier, the Children were said to have born with the silver spoon in their mouth, now I would say, Children are born with the technology in their hands. However looking back, I can say it easily that these children, will always miss the fun we had in our times. The paper-boats in the monsoons, the wonderful outdoor games like lagori, hide and seek, the fun of playing the cassettes and rewinding them using the pencils, the celebration of every small thing with physical friends(unlike todays ‘virtual’ ones) will be badly missed by these children. The fun of clicking just one picture at a family function and getting it ready from the photography shop, can never be replaced by thousands of selfies clicked every now and then.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. But rather the one most responsive to change
 - Charles Darwin

Well digesting the above thought, I wish technology keeps me surprising pleasantly with its wonders and makes me remember those good old times.

Just in case

Sometimes, it becomes really hard to accept that we have committed a mistake. A mistake that has cost you a lot, may be a treasure full of money or may be a luxurious life or may be a life which you always wanted to live.
Time and tide wait for no one. Well goes this saying. Really with time, even sorry doesn’t work out for our mistake. During this time, it feels like you have lost everything. You are not able to do anything and are totally useless. People along with you have gone far ahead than you, and you are left alone to walk on this thorny, problematic road.
At such times, even if you get someone to boast you and tell you that, ‘Yes! You can do this. You have the capability to do what you want to do’, you get a new ray of hope. Only with this little ray of hope, you can come out of the obscurity you are surrounded by.

Just in case, if you are stuck in such situations, try these. (Works out for me)
Keep on saying, ‘All is well’
Talk to your mom/sister about it. She becomes the most important source of inspiration to you at such times.
Engage your time in the things you love to do. In my case, I try my hands on cooking.

You could share with us, your own way of coming out of such situation by commenting on this post.
